Small Group Lessons

  • Group lessons can have 2 people, 3 people or 4-6 people
  • Group lessons will be organised according to grade levels
  • If all students are from the same school, lessons will be tailored to the school schedule
  • All small group lessons will be either 1.5 hours or 2 hours depending on the year level
  • J Academy lessons include:
  • Syllabus-based workbooks
  • Individualised feedback
  • School assessment help.
  • Mastery assessments will occur in week 8 or 9 to measure the progress of students. All assessments will be marked with thorough feedback and returned to the student during the lesson in week 10.

Years 5-6

Duration: 10 weeks
Our focus is on nurturing and fostering the student's talent from a young age. We encourage intellectual and creative challenge. Our tutors will inspire your child through innovative teaching methods to become an independent and confident learner.We will provide assistance for School/State-wide exam preparation: NAPLAN, ICAS
YEAR 6We provide a high school preparation class, which will equip your child with the essential skills for high school english.

Years 7-10

Duration: 10 weeks
Our focus is on developing the essential short answer, speech, essay and creative writing skills that are foundational for senior years. Our tutors will inspire your child through innovative teaching methods so that they can understand complex concepts and apply essential skills independently. We will also teach effective organisational and study skills that will be imperative for senior years.

Years 11 & 12

Duration: 10 weeks
At J Academy, we believe that to excel in senior years, individualised attention is required. Therefore, we offer small groups for Years 11 and 12, from the same school where possible. Our tutors will provide personalised guidance through detailed essay analysis and will guide students through each step of their school assessments.
